Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair
1993 Eagle Summit L4-1795cc 1.8L SOHCSECTION Service and Repair
CAUTION: During bleeding procedure, keep fluid in reservoir at correct level.
1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Manually turn oil pump pulley a few times.
3. Turn steering wheel from stop to stop five or six times.
4. Disconnect high tension cable then operate starter motor intermittently while turning the steering wheel from stop to stop five or six times.
5. Connect high tension cable and start engine.
6. Turn steering wheel from stop to stop until no bubbles appear in reservoir.
7. Ensure fluid is not milky and at proper level.
8. Confirm there is little or no change in fluid level when steering wheel is turned from stop to stop.
9. Ensure fluid level is within 0.2 inch with the engine running and when it is stopped.
10. If fluid level is not as specified, the system is not completely bled. Repeat procedure.
