NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTIONΒ  .

Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS (USING DRB-II)Β  to retrieve fault codes. If fault codes are not present and DRB-II is used, proceed to one of the following tests:

  • Go to NS-1A (NO-START TEST) if a no-start condition exists or engine stalls after start-up. After repairs, perform indicated VERIFICATION PROCEDURE test. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to engine being tested.
  • Go to DR-1A (DRIVEABILITY TEST) if engine runs but has performance problems. Perform indicated VERIFICATION PROCEDURE after repairs. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to engine being tested.

When to See a Mechanic
