Strut Assembly: Reassembly
1992 Eagle Talon TSi, FWD, StandardSECTION Reassembly
- To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Ensure bump rubber engages in groove of dust cover during installation. Install upper spring seat so flat side of strut rod hole engages with flat side of strut rod.
- Align holes of upper spring seat with holes of lower spring seat. This can be done by installing a .4" x 11.8" (10 x 300 mm) pipe through hole of both spring seats.
- Ensure coil spring is aligned with grooves in upper and lower spring seats. Compress coil spring and tighten self-locking nut to specification. Apply multipurpose grease to bearing area of strut, strut insulator and dust cap.
CAUTION:
When applying grease to components, ensure grease DOES NOT contact rubber part of upper strut insulator.
