Inspect rack components in following manner, replacing parts as necessary:

  • Check rack support for uneven wear or damage.
  • Check rack support spring for deterioration.
  • Check oil seal for cracks or wear.
  • Check rack pinion tooth surfaces for wear or damage.
  • Check pinion bearing for noise, uneven rotation or damage.
  • Check rack bushing for damage.
