- If ball joint dust cover requires replacement, remove dust cover. Apply multipurpose grease to lip and inside of dust cover. Using Installer (MB990800-01 ), install dust cover on ball joint.
- To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW retaining nuts on the clamp and ball joint. Tighten control arm bolt, clamp bolt/nut and ball joint stud nut with vehicle on the ground and at normal operating height.CAUTION: Control arm-to-crossmember and clamp bolts must be tightened to specification with vehicle at normal operating height.
- On bushing type stabilizer bars, tighten nut on bolt between control arm and stabilizer bar until the bolt protrudes .63-.70" (16.0-17.8 mm) past the end of the nut.
