Coolant Temperature Sensor (Cts)
The coolant temperature sensor is located in the thermostat housing, above the water pump. This sensor allows the ECU to determine engine temperature. During cold engine operation, the ECU will richen the air/fuel mixture, compensate for fuel condensation in the intake manifold, control engine warm-up speed, increase ignition advance, and inhibit operation of the EGR system.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
