Inspect the vehicle to make sure that all engine components are properly installed and connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.

If cooling system is opened, with the scan tool, purge all air from the system using the cooling pumps.

After repairs are complete, erase all DTCs with the scan tool.

NOTE:

After erasing a DTC, turn the ignition off, disconnect the scan tool from the vehicle, close all doors, wait 2 minutes.

The table below shows the routines that must be run when a repair is made to the HV system or when erasing DTCs. This should be performed before attempting to verify the repair.

REQUIRED SCAN TOOL ROUTINES
HV SYSTEM COMPONENT REPAIR PERFORMED
MGU Replaced With the scan tool, perform the "Resolver Relearn" routine.
Transmission replaced With the scan tool, perform the "Resolver Relearn" routine.
HV Battery Pack Replaced With the scan tool, flash program the BPCM with the latest software and "Enable Contactors" routine.
IDCM Replaced
  • A new IDCM is received in "Plant Mode" and must be upgraded to "Normal Mode" by conducting the Plant Mode charging test to unlock its full functionality by performing the following procedure below:
  • Press the ignition to RUN.
  • Plug in the Electric Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) Level 2 charger  to activate the IDCM Plant Mode self-test.
  • The IDCM will perform a charging test. After 30 seconds "service charging system" message will display on the cluster. Remove the EVSE from the vehicle after the message is displayed.
  • Press the ignition OFF.
  • Close all doors.
  • Perform sleep cycle. Wait until cluster display goes blank.
  • Plug in the EVSE Level 2 charger  and wait for 5 minutes to confirm the vehicle continuously charges without any error messages.
  • The IDCM is now in Normal Mode. If Normal Mode is not achieved, verify proper EVSE operation.
PIM Replaced With the scan tool, flash program the HCP with the latest software, perform the "Immobilizer ECUs Replaced" routine, and "Resolver Relearn" routine.
  1. After the appropriate scan tool routine is performed, turn the ignition on and erase all DTCs.
  2. Turn the ignition off, disconnect the scan tool from the vehicle, and close all doors. Wait until the cluster display turns off.
  3. Operate the vehicle under the conditions that originally set the DTC or caused the symptom. Depending on the failure mode, it may be necessary to test drive the vehicle allowing the PIM to shift between engine and electric modes.
  4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    • If a DTC returned, perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
    • If no DTCs returned, repair is complete.
