Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module

2024 Dodge and Ram ProMaster 3500 Base, CutawaySECTION Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module

DESCRIPTION

This vehicle features an EPS system. The EPS module is located in a powerpack that contains the motor, module and worm drive on the steering gear assembly. Since the steering system is fully electric rather than traditional hydraulic, all of the power assist is provided via an electric motor system. This type of EPS system improves:

  • Fuel economy since there is no parasitic loss from a power steering pump.
  • Reduces steering system-generated noise.
  • Allows for optimal tuning of feedback to the driver.
NOTE: All diagnostics must be performed through the EPS module for the EPS system. There are no serviceable parts inside the steering rack, EPS module or the EPS motor. If the EPS assembly is replaced, a verification test must be performed, refer to  EPS VERIFICATION TEST  .

For the removal and installation of the EPS module. Refer to GEAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
