Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Theory Of Operation
The Trailer Reverse Steering Control (TRSCM) system is a vision based system which uses the vehicles rear view camera to determine when a trailer is attached, the dimensions of the trailer, and if the trailer has been connected before. The first time a trailer is connected upon pressing the TRSC button, located above the control knob, the driver will be prompted to perform a calibration. The calibration maneuver only requires driving forward above 3km/h (5mph) and making two 90Β° turns with approximately 50ft between the turns. Once calibrated and wanting to activate the TRSCM system the driver will shift to Park, Press the TRSC Button, then shift to Reverse. Using the knob to provide the intended path the module will control the steering and if the knob is released it will return to center and straighten the trailer direction. Driver is responsible for throttle and brake control during the maneuver.
