Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Removal
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available).Β
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL
.NOTE:
The Security Gateway Module (SGW) is mounted to the instrument panel on a bracket behind the radio.
- If equipped, release the wire harness retainers (1).
- Remove the bolts (2) and release the SGW (3) from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the SGW wire harness connectors (1).
- Remove the module from the vehicle.
