Electronic Power Steering (EPS) Module
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEXΒ . |
The EPS is used in the semi-automatic park and FRPA system to provide haptic feedback, or torque overlay to assist the vehicle operator. This only occurs when the sensors recognize that the vehicle is situated in the correct position to begin the steering maneuver for a parking slot. The EPS module will ramp assist to match a torque value being requested by the PAM. The EPS also looks for torque applied to the steering wheel to determine a "hands on wheel" condition. This condition needs to be met prior to any PPPA event.
