Removal And Installation: Module
2024 Dodge and Ram 1500 TRXSECTION Module
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2023 RAM 1500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
The Global Telematics Box Module (TBM2) is mounted on a bracket which is bolted to the Instrument Panel (IP) carrier next to the passenger airbag.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM, 3.0L & 5.7L EZH or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - ETORQUE SYSTEM, 3.6L & 5.7L EZL or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM, 6.2L .
- Remove the IP upper glove box. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, UPPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the two screws (1) from the TBM2 bracket.
- Lower the TBM2 (2) to disconnect the wire harness connectors. Then remove the TBM2, and if equipped, Long Term Evolution 2 (LTE2) antenna, Global Position System (GPS) antenna and the TBM2 bracket through the glove box opening.
- If equipped, to remove the TBM2 GPS antenna (2), remove the two screws (1), disconnect the GPS antenna cable and remove the GPS antenna.
- To remove the TBM2 (5) from the bracket, remove the three screws (4) and if equipped, disconnect the LTE2 antenna cable and remove the TBM2.
- If equipped, to remove the TBM2 LTE2 antenna (3), remove the two screws (2) and remove the LTE2 antenna.
INSTALLATION
- If equipped, position the TBM2 LTE2 antenna (3) to the TBM2 bracket, install the two screws (2) and tighten securely.
- Position the TBM2 (5) to the TBM2 bracket, install the three screws (4) and tighten securely.
- If equipped, position the TBM2 GPS antenna (2) to the TBM2 bracket, install the two screws (1) and tighten securely.
- If equipped, connect the LTE2 and GPS antenna cables to the TBM2 (5).
- Install the TBM2 (2), and if equipped, the LTE2 antenna, GPS antenna and bracket through the IP glove box opening.
- Connect all the TBM2 wire harness connectors to the TBM2.
- Position the TBM2 (2) to the IP reinforcement bar, then install the two screws (1) securing the TBM2 and tighten securely.
- Install the IP upper glove box. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, UPPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM, 3.0L & 5.7L EZH or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - ETORQUE SYSTEM, 3.6L & 5.7L EZL or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM, 6.2L .
- For TBM2 equipped vehicles, connect the wiTECH, navigate to the Misc. Functions menu of the TBM2 and run the "TBM Replacement Routine".
