Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Powertrain Control Module (Pcm)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
The PCM limits the vehicle speed in reverse to 4-10 km/h (3-6 mph). The driver will not be able to override the pre-selected speed limit even if the accelerator pedal is fully pressed; the accelerator pedal request will be ignored when the speed of the vehicle is equal to or greater than the limitation set point.
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) provides a current gear signal to the PCM as a confirmation of the transmission gear signal from the Electronic Shift Module (ESM). The PCM in turn provides the TCM with the current accelerator pedal position and is capable of over-riding the accelerator pedal position signal if the actual value exceeds the limit imposed by the TRSCM.
Inputs
- Current transmission gear from TCM
- Commanded ignition state
- Vehicle speed
- Vehicle configuration
- Accelerator pedal position
- Transmission gear status from ESM
- Each wheel direction of rotation
- Each wheel pulse count (96 per rotation)
- Output shaft speed polarity
- TRSC status from TRSCM
- TRSC speed limit request
Outputs
- Engine brake activation response
- Throttle Pedal Position (Calculated) to TCM
