4 - TTPM

The Trailer Interface Module (TIM) is located behind the left rear seat secured to the cab wall.

OPERATION

The TIM is primarily used as a gateway between the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitor (TTPM) module and the vehicles Controller Area Network-Chassis (CAN-C) bus. The TIM receives the information from the TTPM and broadcasts that information over the CAN-C bus to the Instrument Cluster Panel (IPC). The TIM receives inputs from the user through the radio display for programming of the TTPM system. The TIM isolates the vehicle CAN-C bus from the private TTPM system CAN bus in order to prevent a complete loss of communication on the CAN-C bus in a case where vehicle damage might cause the private CAN bus to lose communication. The TIM can be flashed over the CAN bus using normal diagnostic tools connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
