Module, Vehicle System Interface (VSIM): Description

Vehicles manufactured with a fleet equipment package are equipped with a Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM) (1). The VSIM has many hard-wired inputs and outputs through the VSIM jumper harnesses. It also has Controller Area Network (CAN) communication bus output signals. The VSIM allows the upfitter to turn on certain features or functions with hard-wired or bussed commands. It also a outputs signals and relay driver control circuits based on the vehicle information. The VSIM on this is vehicle is installed behind the instrument panel cup holder.

A VSIM cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if damaged or ineffective, it must be replaced.
