Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read LBSS DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- With the scan tool, read LBSS DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION.
- CHECK THE CAN CIRCUITS FROM THE LBSS TO THE TTM
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the LBSS Module harness connector and the TTM harness connector.
- Check the CAN circuits for opens or shorts.
Are there any CAN circuits shorted or open?
Yes
- Repair the CAN circuits that are open or shorted.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK TTM AND LBSS HARNESS CONNECTORS
- Check the LBSS and TTM harness connectors.
Are there any problems with the harness connectors?
Yes
- Restore the correct function of the connector.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Go To 4
- Check the LBSS and TTM harness connectors.
- CHECK THE TTM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the TTM harness connector.
- Check the TTM power supply circuits with a test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the TTM Power supply circuits.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK THE LBSS POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the LBSS harness connector.
- Check the LBSS power supply circuits with a test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Repair the LBSS Power supply circuits.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK THE TTM FUNCTIONALITY
- Check for proper operation of the TTM.
Does the TTM operate correctly?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Replace the TTM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- Check for proper operation of the TTM.
- CHECK THE LBSS FUNCTIONALITY
- Check for proper operation of the LBSS.
Does the LBSS operate correctly?
Yes
- Test complete.
No
- Replace and program the Left Blind Spot Sensor (LBSS) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, BLIND SPOT, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- Check for proper operation of the LBSS.

When to See a Mechanic
