Diagnostic Test

2023 Dodge and Ram Durango SXT, AWDSECTION Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE SCCM AND THE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs in the SCCM.

      Is the SCCM reporting any Speed Control Switch or a Loss of Communication fault with the Speed Control Switch Assembly?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Cycle the ignition off and back to on.
    2. With the scan tool, read active DTCs.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. CHECK FOR OTHER COMMUNICATION DTCS PRESENT 
    1. With the scan tool continue reading PCM DTCs.

      Is the PCM reporting any other Lost Messages or Implausible Data DTCs?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Wiggle test and check the connector at the SCCM for an intermittent loose connection. If the wiring and connector tests good, replace and program the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
