Diagnostic Test

2023 Dodge and Ram Durango R/T, RWDSECTION Diagnostic Test
  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE LEFT DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP (DRL) 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Left DRL harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. CHECK THE RIGHT DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP (DRL) 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Right DRL harness connector.
    3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

  4. CHECK THE (L57) DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C4/D harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L57) Daytime Running Lamp Signal circuit at the BCM C4/D harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (L57) Daytime Running Lamp Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  5. CHECK THE (L57) DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance of the (L57) Daytime Running Lamp Signal circuit between the Right and Left DRL harness connectors and the BCM C4/D harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms for both connections?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (L57) Daytime Running Lamp Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
