Diagnostic Test

2023 Dodge and Ram Durango R/T Premium, AWDSECTION Diagnostic Test
  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. Record the Environmental Data.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. PERFORM A NON-VOLATILE MEMORY RESET AND CHECK FOR THE DTC TO RETURN 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    3. Shift the Transfer case into 2WD.
    4. With the scan tool, perform the "Non-Volatile Memory Reset (Clear T-Case Adaptives)" routine.
    5. Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds, then turn ignition on. (Do not perform any Transfer Case shifts.)
      NOTE:

      When the ignition is turned back on, the DTCM will perform a Clutch Learn.

    6. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Transfer Case Clutch in accordance with the Service Information. Be certain to inspect the Transfer Case Differential for damage.
      • Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST  .

      No 

      • The Clutch Learn procedure has repaired the problem.
      • Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST  .
