Pan, Oil: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE
.
- Drain the engine oil (1) and remove the oil filter (2).
- Remove the steering gear. Refer to GEAR, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the engine oil tube fastener (1) from the exhaust manifold.
- Remove the engine oil dipstick and tube (2) from the oil pan.
- Disconnect the transmission cooling tubes from the oil pan (1).NOTE:
Do not pry on the oil pan or oil pan gasket. The oil pan gasket is integral to the engine windage tray and does not come out with the oil pan.
