2023 Dodge and Ram Durango GT, RWDSECTION Installation

  1. Clean the engine timing cover and engine block surface.
    NOTE:

    Always install a NEW gasket when servicing the engine timing cover.

  2. Verify that the engine timing cover slide bushings (1) remain located in the engine timing cover.

  3. Using a new gasket, install the engine timing cover and tighten the retaining bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  4. Install the five front oil pan to timing cover bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the vibration damper onto the crankshaft. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, INSTALLATION .

  8. Connect the camshaft position sensor wire harness connector (1).
  9. Install the water pump. Refer to PUMP, WATER, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the throttle body. Refer to THROTTLE BODY, INSTALLATION .
  11. Change the engine oil filter and fill the crankcase with the specified type and amount of engine oil. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - ENGINE OIL SERVICE  .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Start the engine and check for leaks.
