- Apply the parking brake.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the shifter bezel. Refer to BEZEL, SHIFTER, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the fasteners (1) and lift the Electronic Shift Module (ESM) (2) up enough to allow access to the ESM wire harness connector.
- Disconnect the ESM wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the ESM from the vehicle.
