The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) and the accelerator pedal is serviced as a complete assembly including the bracket.
- Position the accelerator pedal assembly onto the two mounting studs.
- Install the three accelerator pedal retaining bracket nuts (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Connect the accelerator pedal electrical connector (2) to the APPS.
- Use a scan tool to learn electrical parameters. Go to the Miscellaneous menu, and then select ETC Learn.
- If the previous step is not performed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set.
- If necessary, also use a scan tool to erase any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) from the PCM.
- Before starting the engine, operate the accelerator pedal to check for any binding.
