  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

  2. Remove the fasteners (1) and remove the heat shield.
  3. Remove the wiring harness electrical connector from the encoder.
  4. Remove the screws securing the encoder to the rear transfer case housing.

  5. Remove the encoder from the transfer case.
