Muffler, Exhaust: Installation: 6.4L

NOTE:

Muffler installation is a two-man operation.

  1. Install muffler and tailpipe (2) assembly in vehicle and tighten the four spring nuts (1) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSΒ .

  2. Install the two exhaust isolators (1) to the muffler.

  3. Install the rear exhaust isolators (1).

  4. Install the rear exhaust isolator (1).
  5. Install the ground strap (2).

  6. Install the left exhaust isolator (1).
  7. Install the left exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, INSTALLATIONΒ .
  8. Make sure the muffler/tailpipe assembly is correctly positioned and the properly aligned. The minimum clearance between components is 25 mm (1 inch).
  9. Remove the jack supporting the exhaust system.
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  11. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
