Diagnostic Test
2020 Dodge and Ram Durango GT, AWDSECTION Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, create a Vehicle Scan Report and attach it to the repair order.
- Lower the driver window.
- Turn the ignition on to off three times.
- Leave in the Lock position.
- Close then open the driver door.
- Turn the ignition on and wait one minute.
- With the scan tool, read DDM DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST
- CHECK THE (M43) DRIVER DOOR COURTESY (SILL) LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the inner door panel trim in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to PANEL, DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Leave the Driver Door (sill) Lamp connector connected.
- Disconnect the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the (M43) Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp Driver circuit in the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (M43) Driver Door Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE DRIVER DOOR COURTESY (SILL) LAMP
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (M43) Driver Door Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit between the DDM C5 harness connector and the Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp harness connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Door Sill Lamp.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (M43) DRIVER DOOR COURTESY (SILL) LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Make sure the Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp connector is still connected.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between B (+) and the (M43) Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp Driver circuit in the DDM C5 harness connector.
Does the Driver Door Puddle (trim) Lamp illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Door Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DOOR (DDM/PDM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST
No
- Repair the (M43) Driver Door Courtesy (sill) Lamp Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST
