- Turn the ignition switch to the Off position. Be certain that all electrical accessories are turned off.
- Remove the spare tire cover to gain access to the battery.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the fastener securing the battery negative cable to the right front strut tower.
- Raise vehicle on hoist, (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
- Remove the fastener securing the battery negative cable to the transmission housing.
- One at a time, remove the battery cable retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips until the cable is free from the vehicle.
- Remove the battery cable from the engine compartment.
