Overdrive Clutch Reassembly
2000 Dodge and Ram Intrepid R/TSECTION Overdrive Clutch Reassembly
- Install overdrive clutch plates and overdrive clutch discs. See Figure . Install waved snap ring. Install reverse-overdrive clutch pressure plate with stepped side downward. See Figure .
- Using press and spring compressor, press reverse-overdrive clutch pressure plate downward to compress overdrive clutch assembly until flat snap ring can be installed. Install flat snap ring. Release press. Remove spring compressor. Check overdrive clutch clearance.
CAUTION:
When compressing overdrive clutch assembly, compress assembly just enough to install flat snap ring.
