Passenger Seat Heat Output Open

2000 Dodge and Ram Intrepid R/TSECTION Passenger Seat Heat Output Open
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Red/Tan wire) at MHSMM harness connector C3. See Figure . If resistance is not 1.5-3.5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1.5-3.5 ohms, replace MHSMM.
  2. Disconnect passenger's heated seat back cushion harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "B" (Black wire) at passenger's heated seat back cushion harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between passenger's heated seat back cushion and ground.
  3. Disconnect passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. Measure resistance in Brown/Black wire between terminal "B" at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal "A" at passenger's heated seat back cushion harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Black wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and passenger's heated seat back cushion.
  4. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at passenger's heated seat back cushion connector (component side). If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, replace passenger's heated seat back cushion.
  5. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at passenger's heated seat cushion connector (component side). If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, replace passenger's heated seat cushion.
  6. Measure resistance in Red/Tan wire between terminal "A" at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal No. 6 at MHSMM harness connector C3. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, problem is intermittent. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Tan wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
