Intermediate Shaft

1999 Dodge and Ram Viper RT/10SECTION Intermediate Shaft

The steering column intermediate shaft connects steering column shaft to shaft of steering gear. The universal joints allow for misalignment of steering column shaft and steering gear shaft. The collapsible joint located in center section of intermediate shaft allows shaft to collapse. In event that power steering gear or front end of vehicle is involved in an impact, shaft is designed to absorb a predetermined amount of fore-and-aft movement of power steering gear.
