Diagnostic Procedure: Notes

1999 Dodge and Ram Caravan Base, 2.4 BSECTION Notes
NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTIONΒ  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

Diagnostic test procedures are designed to detect system faults as quickly as possible. Body Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are accessed through Data Link Connector (DLC). Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB) scan tool or generic scan tool, is used to access information from DLC.

A 1999 diagnostic program cartridge (if applicable), scan tool, body diagnostics cable, hand-held oil pressure gauge, jumper wires, and digital volt-ohmmeter will be needed for testing. Proceed to SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A: IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS in appropriate BODY CONTROL COMPUTER TESTS article.
