NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in appropriate TESTS W/CODES article below. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  section. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  • TESTS W/CODES - 3.9L
  • TESTS W/CODES - 5.2L GASOLINE
  • TESTS W/CODES - 5.9L GASOLINE
    CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
    1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 26, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire) and PCM terminal No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between CCD BUS positive circuit and 8-volt supply circuit. Perform TEST VER-1.
    2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 46, CCD BUS negative circuit, and PCM terminal No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (Orange wire).
    3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between CCD BUS negative circuit and 8-volt supply circuit. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1.
