Air Bag System Diagnostic Module (ASDM): Installation
1992 Dodge and Ram Spirit LE, 2.5 KSECTION Installation
- Install ASDM with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Install ASDM tab on support bracket slot. Install module with new screws and tighten to 15-20 INCH lbs. (1.7-2.2 N.m). Use only screws supplied with new ASDM. Connect electrical connectors.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT connect negative battery cable at this time. Check AIR BAG indicator light to ensure system is functioning properly. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
- Install ASDM with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Connect wiring connectors. Ensure connectors are locked into position. Place module and bracket on lower mounting bracket, using locating tab to position module.
- Install module and bracket with new screws and tighten to 35 INCH lbs. (4 N.m). Use only screws supplied with new ASDM. DO NOT connect negative battery cable at this time. Check AIR BAG indicator light to ensure system is functioning properly. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
- Install ASDM with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Connect wiring connectors. Ensure connectors are locked into position.
- Install module with new screws and tighten to 50-60 INCH lbs. (5.5-6.8 N.m). Use only screws supplied with new ASDM. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT connect negative battery cable at this time. Check AIR BAG indicator light to ensure system is functioning properly. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
