Gearshift Selector Housing: Disassembly
1990 Dodge and Ram Shadow ES, 2D Hatchback, 2.2 CSECTION Disassembly
- Remove dust boot, snap ring and dust boot. Using a screwdriver, pry oil seal off selector shaft. Remove lock pin, back-up light switch and gasket. Remove vent cap and crossover lock pin. See Figure .
- Remove 5-R blocker assembly and crossover shaft. Slide 1-2 crossover spring back with screwdriver and remove selector shaft "C" clip. Slide 5-R crossover spring back with screwdriver and remove selector shaft "C" clip.
- Using hammer and drift, drive selector assembly roll pin out far enough to allow selector shaft removal. Carefully remove selector shaft from shaft housing bore. Remove selector, inhibitor and crossover springs.
