Air Bag System Diagnostic Module (ASDM)
ASDM is located behind center console, at center of instrument panel. See Fig 1 . The ASDM stores fault codes and provides system information to AIR BAG light and diagnostic connector. A fault code is stored whenever AIR BAG light stays on all the time, or if light is activated for 12 seconds or more. Safing sensor is an integral part of ASDM.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
