- Since 3 coils are package independently, each coil must be checked independently. Remove cable from No. 2 spark plug. Insert metal object into spark plug boot to clean it.
- Hold end of cable with insulated pliers about 1/4" (6 mm) from a good engine ground. Crank engine and check for spark at end of cable. Repeat for cylinders No. 4 and No. 6.
- If there is no spark during all 3 tests, go to NO START TEST (3.3L). If one or more coils fail test or weak spark is present, go to CHECK COIL TEST.
NOTE:
For Check Coil Test, remember that cylinders 1 & 4, 2 & 5 and 3 & 6 are grouped together.
