  1. Remove and measure resistance of ignition cables. Replace cables not within specification.
  2. Measure primary (side) coil resistance between B+ pin and each pin corresponding to the cylinders in question. See Fig 1 . Each reading should be .5-.7 ohms.
  3. Replace coil if resistance is NOT within specification. Remove ignition cables from coil towers and measure secondary resistance. Resistance should be 7000-14,000 ohms. Replace coil if resistance is not within specification.
