Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Throttle Control
The throttle control system is used to maintain or raise engine speed for certain conditions. The conditions when engine speed is raised are during A/C or heated rear window (EBL - electrically heated backlight) operation, or during timer operation. There are 2 timers used in this system. When the engine is started, one of the timers provides a 2 second delay, during which engine speed is raised. Also, when the throttle is closed, another timer prevents the throttle from closing all the way immediately.
