- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM then MISC. Select PROGRAM IGNITION KEYS. Obtain 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) from vehicle owner or manufacturer.NOTE: If 3 attempts are made incorrectly to enter PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit lock out mode, leave ignition switch in ON position for one hour. Ensure battery voltage is maintained with battery charger, if necessary.
