Charging System & Starting System: Generator: Installation: 2.0/2.4L

- Install generator and loose assemble the bolt and nut.
- Install and tension the generator belt, refer to the COOLING SYSTEM MECHANICAL for more information.
- Tighten the lower pivot bolt to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.)
- Install axle shaft, see AXLE SHAFTS .
- Install lower control arm to steering knuckle, see SUSPENSION FRONT article.
- Install the lower ball joint nut and tighten, see SUSPENSION FRONT article.
- Install the axle retaining nut and tighten, refer to AXLE SHAFTS .
- Install the pencil strut, see BODY article.
- Install the B+ terminal nut and wire and tighten to 11.3 N.m (100 ins. lbs.).
- Plug in the field circuit to the generator
- Install the accessory drive splash shield.
- Install the right front wheel.
- Lower vehicle.
- Tighten the T-bolt locknut and tighten to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.)
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Install the air cleaner lid and connect the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup hose.
- Check the transmission fluid.
