DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Perform the Compass/Temp Module Self-Check.
Turn the ignition off.
Depress and hold the STEP button.
Turn the ignition on and then release the STEP button.
NOTE: The Compass/Temp Module will illuminate all of the VF segments and then display an "F" or "P".Β 

Exit the self check by depressing the STEP button or cycling the ignition.
Did the Compass/Temp Module display an "F" during the self check?
  1. Yes: Replace the Compass/Temp Module in accordance with the Service Information.
    NOTE: After replacing the CTM, it must be calibrated to operate properly.Β 

    Refer to OVERHEAD CONSOLEΒ  in the Service Information or Symptom: *COMPASS/TEMP MODULE DOES NOT CALIBRATEΒ .

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1Β .

  2. No: Go To 2

NOTE: Ensure that the vehicle has been properly demagnetized before attempting to calibrate the compass. Refer to Β OVERHEAD CONSOLEΒ Β .Β
