Engine Coolant Thermostat: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner housing. See 3.2L V6 article.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. See DRAINING COOLING SYSTEMΒ .
  3. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
  4. NOTE: The thermostat housing and the thermostat are serviced as an assembly. The thermostat cannot be service separately.
  5. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts and remove the thermostat and housing from the engine.
