Cooling - Service Information: Description
A conventional cross-flow aluminum core radiator (4) cools the engine. The coolant recovery reservoir (1) includes a coolant level sensor. A bypass circuit and additional coolant circulation pump can continue to circulate coolant through the heater core when the engine is off. A level sensor in the coolant recovery reservoir notifies the driver if there is insufficient coolant by illuminating the low engine coolant warning lamp in the instrument cluster. An electric fan (2) which is switched on and off by the radiator fan control module draws air for added cooling when needed.
