Fuel Tank: Removal

2004 Chrysler Crossfire StandardSECTION Removal
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise the vehicle and support.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4. Drain the fuel tank. See DRAINING FUEL TANK .
  5. Disconnect the fuel feed hose (4) from the bottom of the fuel tank.

  6. Disconnect the fuel return hose from the bottom of the fuel tank.
  7. Remove the cargo area trim panels.
  8. Remove the fuel tank partition retaining bolts (2) and remove the fuel tank partition.

  9. Disconnect the fuel tank level and pressure sensor connectors (1) from the fuel sending unit.
  10. Disconnect the fuel tank filler neck cup seals from the body.
  11. Remove the fuel tank.
  12. NOTE: Inspect the strainer and O-ring for damage and replace as necessary.
  13. Remove the fuel strainer from the bottom of the fuel tank and inspect.
