Multi-Function Switch: Installation

2004 Chrysler Crossfire StandardSECTION Installation
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS ARTICLE BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, DRIVER AIRBAG, PASSENGER AIRBAG, FRONT IMPACT SENSOR, SIDE IMPACT SENSOR, SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
  1. Install the multifunction switch to the steering column.
  2. Install the wire harness to the steering column.
  3. Connect the multifunction switch harness connectors.
  4. Install the screws (2) attaching the multifunction switch to the steering column.

  5. Install the bracket on the top of the multifunction switch.
  6. Install the screw (1) attaching the speed control switch to the multifunction switch.
  7. Install the lower instrument panel. See BODY article.
  8. Install the clockspring. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  9. Install the steering wheel. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
