Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

1999 Chrysler LHSSECTION Notes

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors transmission operation along with input and output information. If TCM self-diagnostic system senses a transmission or electrical circuit failure, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be stored in TCM memory. If malfunction goes away after DTC is stored in TCM memory, TCM will erase DTC after ignition has been cycled at least 75 times. DTCs are classified as either hard or intermittent codes.
