NOTE:
Perform TEST CS-1A: CHECKING SPEED CONTROL OPERATION before proceeding.
- Disconnect speed control RESUME/ACCEL switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between speed control switch signal circuit and ground at RESUME/ACCEL switch connector. See SPEED CONTROL RESUME/ACCEL SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION table. Using scan tool, read speed control switch voltage. If voltage is one volt or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than one volt, replace speed control RESUME/ACCEL switch. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
- Disconnect jumper wire. Using a DVOM, check resistance of ground circuit between speed control RESUME/ACCEL switch connector and a chassis ground. See SPEED CONTROL RESUME/ACCEL SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION table. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open speed control switch signal circuit to clockspring connector. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open ground circuit. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
