Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Emission Control
The logic module controls the purge and EGR solenoids. When engine temperature reaches 145Β°F (61Β°C), the logic module de-energizes the purge solenoid. When de-energized, ported vacuum flows to canister urge valve and fuel vapors vent to throttle body.
The EGR solenoid is operated in the same manner when engine temperature reaches 70Β°F (21Β°C). No EGR occurs during idle or wide open throttle (WOT).
