Circuit/System Verification

2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS, 4WDSECTION Circuit/System Verification
  1. Ignition ON/vehicle in service mode.
  2. Verify there are no keyless entry system DTCs set.
    • Go to next step: If no keyless entry DTCs are set 
  3. Verify the hands - free liftgate sensor lamp turns ON and OFF while commanding the Projected Lamp ON and OFF with a scan tool.
    • If the hands - free liftgate sensor lamp does not turn ON and OFF 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • Go to next step: If the hands - free liftgate sensor lamp turns ON and OFF 
  4. Verify the vehicle locks and unlock with the RKE Transmitter.
    • Go to next step: If the vehicle does lock/unlock 
  5. NOTE:

    RKE transmitter 1 or 2 must be used for approach lighting. Any additional transmitters will not prompt approach lighting to illuminate.

  6. Verify one of the scan tool data parameters listed below are Active with the RKE transmitter inside the vehicle.
    • Key Fob 1 in Vehicle
    • Key Fob 2 in Vehicle
    • If one of the parameters are not Active 

      Approach lighting will not illuminate, acquire RKE transmitter 1 or 2 and retest.

    • Go to next step: If one of the parameters are Active 
  7. Verify the Transmitter Approach Detected - Rear scan tool data parameter changes status while approaching the rear of the vehicle with the RKE transmitter.
    • If the scan tool parameter does not change status when approaching the rear of the vehicle 
    1. Reprogram the RKE Transmitter, refer to: Remote Control Door Lock and Theft Deterrent Transmitter Programming
    2. Verify the Transmitter Approach Detected - Rear scan tool data parameter changes status while approaching the rear of the vehicle with the RKE transmitter.
      • Go to next step: If the scan tool parameter does change status

        Go to next step: All OK.

    • Go to next step: If the scan tool parameter does change status 
  8. A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition, refer to Diagnostic Aids for additional information.
