Removal Procedure

2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country, 5.3L Eng VIN D, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    NOTE:

    Use a small flat - bladed tool to open the right side upper and lower assist handle covers (1) to access the bolts (2).

  3. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
  4. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt - Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
  5. Pull inward at the top to disengage upper attachment clip.
  6. Pull upward to disengage from the instrument panel.
  7. Windshield Garnish Molding - Right Side (3) - Remove

    Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove

  9. Sunshade Bolt - Right Side (2) - Remove [3x]
  10. Squeeze the tabs at the right side base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headlining trim panel with the sunshade (3) attached to be lowered.
  11. {If equipped} Disconnect the electrical connector.
  12. Release the right side retainer (4) attaching the sunshade (3) to the headlining trim panel.
  13. Sunshade - Right Side (3) - Reposition

    Open the right side sunshade support bolt access cover with an appropriate tool.

  15. Sunshade Support Bolt - Right Side (1) - Remove
  16. Using the appropriate tool, release the right side metal sunshade support retainer.

    Use a small flat - bladed tool to open the bolt caps (1) and gain access to the bolts.

  18. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap - Right Side (1) - Remove
  19. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt - Right Side (2) - Remove
  20. Pull the Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the clips and retainers.
  21. NOTE:

    The Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

  22. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel - Right Side (3) - Reposition

    Push in the lamp lens (1) to access the notches on the roof console lamp trim plate (2).

  24. Using a plastic trim tool and working your way rearward, release the retainers of the roof console lamp trim plate (2).

    Roof Console Lamp Trim Plate (1) - Remove [2x]

  26. NOTE:

    Note the location of the fastener opening. The fasteners are being misaligned and not retaining the forward roof console clips during installation.

  27. Roof Console Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Roof Console (1) - Remove

  29. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  30. Lower the right front section of the headlining trim panel.

    Remove excess glue and material from the communication interface module microphone harness and re-tape areas where the tape was removed or damaged.

  32. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  33. Unlock the retaining tabs.
  34. Communication Interface Module Microphone (1) - Remove
